Liberty Elementary School

March 19, 2020

LES Families,

I hope you are doing well and want you to know that we all miss your children every day and wish that circumstances were different.  This is Stephanie Cox, Principal of Liberty Elementary School. I know that you have received some information from the district and want to take a minute to share some specific information about how we will attempt to provide home-based Educational Opportunities for our children. Please know that our teachers are working hard to make sure they help continue to provide learning opportunities each week.  I know that we will make mistakes, but our entire staff is committed to learning how to help our children.

Here are the details as of today, March 19, 2020:

Each Sunday by 6:00, we will have lesson plans posted on the district webpage, www.libertyisd.net. These will be completely accessible in digital format through that webpage.

Mondays between 10:00 – 1:00 and again between 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Liberty Middle School is where you can pick up paper packets of the digital work if you do not have access to a computer, phone or internet.  At this time to help with the safety of our staff, we request that you only pick up paper packets if you do NOT have a way to access it digitally.

Each Wednesday or Thursday, teachers will provide an open education support time where parents and children can ask questions and receive help on any classwork. Specific times for these opportunities will be posted on the LES website.

On Friday, March 20, you will hear from your child’s homeroom teacher with more information.  These homeroom teachers are excited to connect with you and your child.  They will be your contact throughout this new experience. If they do not know the answer, they will find it.

Please remember that it is important for our children to continue to have a schedule each day. There is a great example posted on our district website, if you do not already have one of your own.

As a parent myself, I understand how overwhelming and frustrating this can be. Please know that we are here to help.  We may not know all the answers, but I fully believe that we can find them together.

Please give a special hug to your child from me and stay safe.
